How ratings and reviews are collected
Last updated: September 8, 2026
The site rating shown on Heybuilds and the reviews shown on build pages come exclusively from our members. This page explains who can rate, when we ask, and what we never do.
1.Who can rate
- The site rating (1 to 5 stars) can only be given by logged-in members with an active subscription.
- A review on a build can only be posted by a member who has access to that build (subscription, purchase, or free build). There are no anonymous reviews.
2.Where and when we ask
- In the account settings, at any time.
- On the homepage, for members who have not rated the site yet.
- A rating is a whole number from 1 to 5. Adding a text (20 to 300 characters) is always optional and never required to submit a rating.
3.What we never do
- We do not filter, hide or delete a rating or a review because of its score.
- We do not buy reviews, we do not offer anything in exchange for a rating or a review, and we do not edit the text of a review.
- A review is only removed when it is illegal, off-topic, contains personal data, or when its photo is unrelated to the build.
- The author can edit or delete their own review at any time.
4.How the score is computed
- The site rating is the arithmetic mean of all ratings ever given, without weighting or time limit. The number of ratings and their distribution are shown next to it.
- A build rating is computed the same way from the ratings received on that build.
- Averages are rounded to one decimal for display.
5.Replies and reports
- The Heybuilds team may reply publicly to a review; replies are clearly identified as such.
- Any review can be reported with the flag button next to it. Reports are reviewed by a person.
